On December 31, 2017, the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the Afghan Ambassador to Uzbekistan Sayed Shahabuddin Timori and the visiting Afghan Ambassador to the United Kingdom Samir Javed, Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The sides reportedly summed up the Uzbek-Afghan ties in 2017 and underlined that the December 4-6 official visit of the President of Afghanistan, Muhammad Ashraf Ghani to Uzbekistan and its outcomes have opened a new page in bilateral ties, rendering them multifaceted and productive in nature.
The sides also exchanged views on areas for further bilateral cooperation in 2018.
