UzJeldorPass, a Uzbekistan Railways subsidiary for passenger train services, announced the launch of additional railway services to the Russian cities starting from February 2018.

According to the company, Tashkent-Moscow, Tashkent-Ufa and Andijan-Moscow services (currently weekly) will be operated twice a week, and the frequency of the Tashkent-Volgograd service will be increased from two to three times a week.

After the recent tragedy in Kazakhstan which killed 52 Uzbek nationals, the The Cabinet adopted a resolution on January 23 on urgent measures to ensure the safety of outbound travellers.

The document provides for stepping up control over the technical condition of passenger buses, sales of promo air and rail tickets for labor migrants, opening of new bus, rail and air routes, as well as attracting foreign lowcosters.
