Abdulloh Ruziboev, a 12-year-old pupil of Tashkent school No. 134, died trying to save a friend who fell into the water, the Uzbek emergency authorities reported.
Abdulloh and Shohjakhon went for a walk after classes. Passing by a canal in Karakamysh area, they decided to run across a pipe above the canal, when Shohjakhon slipped and fell into the water.
Abdulloh took off his clothes, shoes and dived after him. He had been going swimming classes for several years.
Approaching his friend, Abdulloh pushed him to the edge of the canal, but because of fatigue he could not reach the shore himself, and cold water pulled him down.
The little hero was only 12 years old. According to his classmates and teachers, he was a brave boy and a popular and exemplary pupil.
