Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today held talks with the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The counterparts reportedly discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, some issues of regional cooperation, and noted the growing interest among Uzbek and Indian political, business and other circles in the further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

Kamilov briefed his Indian counterpart on the progress of preparation for the upcoming Peace Process, Security and Regional Cooperation conference on Afghanistan in Tashkent, and the sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.

The Indian side reportedly fully supported Uzbekistan’s initiative to hold the said conference on Afghanistan.
