President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today hosted the visiting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Kang Kyung-wha, the press service of the head of state said.
The sides reportedly exchanged views on the prospects for deepening multifaceted bilateral cooperation, while Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that Uzbekistan fully supports the course undertaken under the leadership of President Mun Jae-in aimed at ensuring peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the region as a whole.
It was noted that the historic high-level visit to South Korea in November 2017 and the deals reached allowed to elevate the Uzbek-Korean cooperation to a new level.
Kang Kyung-wha highly commended the results of the Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan, initiated by the President of Uzbekistan in March and expressed gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the decision to introduce visa-free travel for South Korean citizens.
She also confirmed the readiness of the South Korean side to strengthen bilateral strategic partnership ties and full-scale cooperation.
