Uzbekistan intends to open consulates in Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg in 2018, the Uzbek Ambassador to Russia Bahrom Ashrafhonov told Xalq So’zi (transl. People’s Word) newspaper.
"To execute the President’s orders on comprehensive support of Uzbek migrants in Russia, large number of citizens' requests, the issue of opening new consular missions in a number of Russian cities is being reviewed. In March the Consulate General was opened in St. Petersburg. It is expected that in 2018 consulates will be opened in Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg," the ambassador said.
“With opening of these missions, we will be able to provide quality consular services to Uzbekistan citizens living in various parts of the Russian Federation, timely and fully address their problems, and in general, more effectively protect their rights,” he added.
