Immediately upon arrival at the Tashkent airport, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the the Chairman of the Committee for Northern Economic Cooperation of South Korea, Son Young-gil.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again sincerely congratulated the leadership and the friendly Korean people on the successful holding of the Inter-Korean summit in Panmunjom on April 27.
He emphasized that the fruitful outcomes of this event were possible through the resolute position and efforts of President Moon Jae-in government’s New Northern Policy aimed at improving ties with the DPRK, ensuring security and stability in the region.
The sides noted with deep satisfaction dynamic development of strategic partnership ties and expansion of multifaceted interaction between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea and discussed prospects for further advancing bilateral ties, including in the trade, economic, financial, investment, innovation and humanitarian, education and health areas.
In turn, Son Young-gil expressed his gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and sincere congratulations, and also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President Moon Jae-in.
The Korean side assured of interest in the consistent expansion and strengthening of a full-scale and multi-format partnership in order to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the vast region.
