Protection of Victims, Witnesses and Other Participants to Criminal Proceeding Bill has been posted on the draft legal acts discussion portal.
The document says that a witness who needs protection could be relocated to another temporary or permanent residence, to be provided by the state, will have the moving costs reimbursed and get financial assistance, with job or a place of study similar to the former to be guaranteed.
The program provides identity documents for witnesses and family members whose names are changed for security purposes
In exceptional cases, when the safety of a witness cannot be ensured by other measures, his physical appearance can be changed with his consent.
If necessary, the witness person may get special technical protection, provided with guard, with all data related to a witness removed from all databases.
The law may enter into force on September 1, 2019.
