Shavkat Rakhmatov has been appointed as acting prosecutor of the Tashkent province, replacing Bakhodir Pulatov who became the governor of Surkhandarya province, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

Shavkat Rakhmatov, 48, graduated from the Tashkent State University (1995). He began his career in the in Yangiyul City Prosecutor's Office the same year, held various positions in the prosecutor's offices of the Tashkent province. Since 1998 he worked at the Prosecutor General's Office, as the assistant to the Prosecutor General, deputy chief of department at the Prosecutor General's Office and prosecutor of Tashkent’s Bekabad province.

From May to date he served as deputy prosecutor of Tashkent province.
