The prominent journalist Sharof Ubaydullayev was elected as the deputy chairman of the Nuroniy Foundation at the September 12 meeting of the Board of Trustees of the foundation, UzA reported.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy PM, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nuroniy Foundation Aziz Abdukhakimov, as well as other board members and staff.
Sharof Ubaydullaev served as spokesman to the late president Karimov in the 90s and recently has worked as guest expert on the OzodNazar program of the Uzbek service of Radio Liberty. He is also known for his harsh criticism of the previous regime.
