U.S. Senate confirmed the candidacy of Daniel Rosenblum as the American ambassador to Uzbekistan. Rosenblum had told about his plans as ambassador to U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in August this year.
His priorities include deepening the partnership with Uzbekistan “in pursuit of shared security goals in the region,” supporting government reforms, helping U.S. companies make use of investment and sales opportunities and focusing on further improvement of basic rights and freedoms protection.
Rosenblum has been Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs since 2017. He was responsible for managing U.S. policy and diplomatic relations with the five Central Asian states, including Uzbekistan from 2014.
