In the framework of the regular inter-parliamentary dialogue in the Uzbekistan-EU format, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry yesterday hosted a meeting with the members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament, the ministry said.

The sides reportedly discussed the current state and the future for advancing of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, investment, scientific-educational, cultural-humanitarian and other fields, as well as the issues of legislative support of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.

Particular attention was paid to the preparation of the parties for the negotiations on the EU-Uzbekistan draft enhanced partnership and cooperation agreement, which is intended to elevate the bilateral ties to a qualitatively new level.
