The Uzbek President’s security aide, Viktor Makhmudov met with his Kazakh counterpart, Gabit Baizhanov and considered the current security issues. In the meeting were present the leaders of central government bodies.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for advancing cooperation in Central Asia and within international organization and the the ways to counter terrorism and religious extremism, ensuring information and cyber security, as well as handing over of convicts to serve sentences to the states of which they are citizens.

During the meeting, the parties also reviewed the provisional results of the implementation of the cooperation roadmap in the field of water relations.

Following the talks, specific instructions were given to the relevant state bodies of the two countries. Consultations between the security bodies are being held on a regular basis in accordance with the instructions of the Uzbek and Kazakh leaders.
