The German ATLAS International will develop the automated photo/video system for monitoring and reporting incidences of traffic violations in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Justice said.

At the first stage - in 2018–2019 - the company will invest 300 million euros of direct investments in the implementation of the automated system in Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan and Fergana provinces. The project is approved by the presidential decree.

The governor offices of four provinces jointly with the Committee for Highways have been instructed as part of the project to ensure timely installation of road signs, information signs and other technical means, durable road markings, performance of construction works and laying of transmission lines and telecommunications to the facilities of the automated system.

In August, representatives of the German companies ATLAS International and Jenoptik Robot visited Uzbekistan to discuss the implementation of a modern road safety system project.

Tashkent police department reported earlier that the system offered by German companies allows to automatically record at least seven types of traffic violations. The current automated system in Tashkent’s 115 intersections (launched in March 2017) records only two types of violations - traffic light violation and speeding.
