UzbekTelecom announced that the Internet connection speed in Uzbekistan will increase by 10 times (?!) as of December 1. According to a company official, the related technical works are currently being completed.
Earlier this year, President Mirziyoyev instructed to cut prices for the Internet and increase the connection speed by at least four times by the year-end, elevating to the level of the CIS countries by 2020.
Earlier, the Finance Ministry also reported that a major project to expand the Internet channel is nearing its end.
“By the year-end, the project to increase the Internet access speed by 10 times is about to be completed,” said Azamat Karamatov, Head of the Digital Economy Development at the IT Development Ministry.
