Seven man-made reservoirs of 45 million cubic meters total storage capacity will be created in Uzbekistan, the move being aimed at reclamation of rainfed lands, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated in congratulatuary mesaage to agricultural workers.

For this purpose, Parkentsoy, Kizilsoi and Toshtepa man-made reservoirs will be created in the Tashkent province, Karaman man-made reservoir- in Farish district, Jizzakh province, Guldara and Ayakchisoy man-made reservoirs - in Kashkadarya province, Bulungur man-made reservoir - in Samarkand province.

Stable irrigation of 1.2 million hectares will be ensured within the next two years, saving 1.7 BCm water per year, and ameliorative condition of 600 thousand hectares of land will improve.

Next year, to improve the ameliorative codndition of irrigated land it is planned to contribute almost 1.7 trillion soums from the state budget, as well as US$ 84 million from foreign financial institutions.
