Uzbekistan is planning to introduce visa-free regime for the nationals of another 22 countries. The draft resolution is being discussed in the Cabinet of Ministers, the First deputy chief of the Tourism Committee Ulugbek Kasimhodjaev announced at a press conference on Thursday.
Uzbekistan now has a visa-free regime with 18 countries, including the bilateral visa-free with the CIS countries.
According to the committee, in January-October 2018, the number of visitors to Uzbekistan almost doubled to reach 4.4 million people compared to the same period in 2017.
In February, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree introducing a visa-free regime for the citizens of Israel, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and Japan, and easing visa obtaining procedure for citizens of 39 countries. In March, Tajikistan was added to the visa-free regime list, in October - France.
