Azim Ahmedkhodjaev, who served as deputy director of the National Agency for Project Management (NAPM) under the President, has been appointed deputy governor of the Jizzakh province, and will be responsible for investments, innovation, assistance to privatized enterprises, development of small industrial zones and promoting tourism.

Since last August, Azim Akhmedkhodjaev worked as Deputy Director of the National Agency for Project Management (NAPM) under the President of Uzbekistan (the position was equal to the Deputy Presidential Advisor).

His candidacy for the post of deputy governor has been approved by the council of people's deputies of the Jizzakh province.

Azim Akhmedkhodjaev, 39, graduated from Tashkent State University of Economy (2002). He was in charge of the Committee on Investments in 2017–2018. From May 2016 to March 2017, he was the Chairman of the Board of Asaka Bank. In February 2018, he headed the Ministry of IT and Communications Development, and in August became the head of the bloc on the development of the digital economy and the blockchain at NAPM.
