According to the organizing committee, about 130 foreign experts confirmed participation in the International Conference “Central Asian Connectivity: Challenges and New Opportunities”, to be held February 19-20. They represent 36 countries, 9 international and regional organizations, 71 research institutes, 18 government bodies and parliaments.

The head of the co-organizer, the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Natalia German, is expected to address the conference.

The EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian, the Deputy General Director of the World Trade Organization Alan Wolfe, the Chair of the Institute of Central Asia and the Caucasus at the Council on American Foreign Policy Frederick Starr, the President of the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations Ji Jie, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry. Afghanistan’s Kamil Siddiqi and other reputable experts and analysts specializing in regional issues confirmed they participation in the forum.

It is planned that the conference will be held in the format of plenary and breakout sessions.

At the breakout sessions, experts will exchange views on regional security issues in Central Asia, cooperation in trade and economic, transport and communications, water, environment, energy, tourism, cultural and humanitarian areas.
