The Tashkent city Mayor Jahongir Ortikhodjaev hosted the Member of the European Parliament/Mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris Rachida Dati Tuesday.
The parties discussed the ways to step up cooperation, particularly the opening of a branch of the University of Strasbourg (Unistra) in Tashkent and organizing the mission of the Paris business delegation to Tashkent.
According to Davron Hidoyatov, the deputy mayor in charge of architecture, capital construction and communications, French specialists are ready to cooperate in improving Tashkent city infrastructure, in particular, the drinking water supply system.
The University of Strasbourg is ranked 87th in the World University Rankings. 18 alumni of Unistra are the Nobel Prize laureates.
