On March 28, at about 7:30 AM, the corpses of four family members were found in a house in Khodzheili district of Karakalpakstan, the General Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
The mother, 23, U.T. and her three-month-old son, I.K. were found dead at the bottom of a well. The corpses of her two other sons, aged 2 and 4, were found in the bedroom.
According to the provisional forensic examination, the death of U.T. and I.K. was caused by suffocation due to being immersed in water, while M. K. and I. K. were strangled.
On March 28, the Prosecutor's Office of Karakalpakstan launched a criminal case under premeditated homicide under aggravating factors, that is, killing two or more persons, which is punished with 15 to 25 years of life imprisonment). The investigation is underway.
The case was taken under the control of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Searches are being made for the person who committed the murder.
