The next meeting of the Council of Interior Ministers of the CIS Member States (CIM) will be held in Tashkent on May 30 - June 1, the CIS Executive Committee reported.

The parties will reportedly discuss seven issues related to the implementation of interstate programs to combat crime and other relevant areas.

Among them are issues of conducting comprehensive coordinated and joint preventive operations in various areas of combating crime, creating mechanisms for effective intergovernmental cooperation in the field of operational investigation when conducting international controlled delivery at the request of the police authorities of the CIS countries.

The Council also plans to adopt the interior ministries cooperation concept until 2030. The document defines the current criminal challenges and threats, the principles, goals, objectives, basic axes and forms of interaction, establishes the mechanisms for its financial, technical, resource support and the mechanism for implementing the concept itself.

The Council of Interior Ministers of the CIS Member States was established in 1996. It includes the ministers of the interior of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The officials of Turkmenistan attend some meetings of the CIM.
