The Ministry of Employment responded to the message on the Sizdan Telegram (transl. Telegram From You) channel, where it was reported about the case of forced of schoolchildren to sweep roads and irrigation ditches in Guzar district of Kashkadarya province.
According to the Ministry, the inspections department of the Kashkadarya province employment department conducted an on-site inspection to verify if the incident indeed took place.
The inspection found that the pupils of the school were indeed forced to perform improvement works. The principal of school №75 Bahriddin Musulmanov was fined for 5 minimum wages (MW=202,000 soums).
The inspections department also made a submission to the province department of public education of the Kashkadarya province to eliminate and henceforth prevent violations of the law.
