The President signed a decree on celebration of Eid al-Adha in Uzbekistan on July 31. Festive events will be held in strict accordance with the lockdown restrictions.
“In order to preserve and widely promote our ancient traditions and values, such as generosity, kindness and compassion, to support the noble intentions and aspirations of our people, taking into account the decision of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan that the first day of Eid al-Adha in 2020 will fall on July 31 – Friday, July 31, 2020, will be celebrated in our country as a holiday,” the decree said.
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, provincial governor offices and Tashkent city mayor office, the Ministry of Mahalla and Family Affairs, in cooperation with the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers and public organizations, have been instructed to take appropriate measures to celebrate Eid al-Adha in accordance with the national and religious traditions of our people and ensure that the lockdown requirements are observed.
