September 22, 2020--The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent in coordination with the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan announced that three American animated children’s television shows will air for the first time ever in the original English. The three shows, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Vivi and Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, will provide educational entertainment for children and will be aired on national TV channels dedicated to broadcasting school-related content.
“During the Covid pandemic, many children have been stuck at home with little in the way of educational entertainment. We are very happy that the children of Uzbekistan will be able to enjoy these high-quality American children’s shows. As a parent, I know how important it is for children’s television shows to be both entertaining and educational,” said U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum.
Minister of Public Education Sherzhod Shermatov stated that watching educational cartoons from an early age is a great way for children to learn English. “We should engage children in an active learning process both in and outside of the classroom – watching such cartoons is a great way to do so,” he said.
Children can watch the new shows on the Ministry of Public Education channel at the following times:
“Vivi”, followed by “Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs”: 15:30 and 18:00 (Mon, Wed, Fri);
“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: 15:30 and 18:00 (Tue, Thurs, Sat).
The shows will also be aired at 23:30 on the same days of the week.
