Uzbekistan plans to launch the production of a vaccine against coronavirus, the Ministry of Health of the republic said.
“An important issue is the establishment of the production of vaccines against coronavirus in our country. The issue is being reviewed by our scientists and pharmaceutical manufacturers. In this case, there will be no need to import the vaccine,” the Ministry of Health said.
At the same time, the department did not specify whether this vaccine will be domestically produced.
They also reminded that the Chinese Sinopharm Group proposed to conduct the third final phase of clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine in Uzbekistan. In addition, the Ministry of Health sent a request to the Russian Direct Investment Fund for the purchase of 5 thousand doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine.
