On November 14, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Acting President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, the presidential press service reported.
The parties reportedly pointed to the need to intensify the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on the Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border, as well as the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation and the Council of Heads of Border Regions.
The heads of state also stressed the importance of continuing close coordination and assistance in countering the spread of coronavirus infection. Sadyr Japarov noted that the Uzbek people in a difficult period for Kyrgyzstan handed humanitarian aid in the form of medicines, personal protective equipment, medical equipment and food.
In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaiterated that "Uzbekistan fully supports the fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan in their striving for peaceful and stable development, well-being and prosperity."
Sadyr Japarov on November 14 handed over to the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums a package of documents for nominating his candidacy for the post of President of Kyrgyzstan. Early presidential elections are scheduled for January 10, 2021.
