Uzbekistan government delegation led by the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in Washington met with U.S. Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Robert A. Destro, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The parties reportedly had a substantive conversation on promising areas for further advancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Robert A. Destro was also briefed about the large-scale Uzbekistan reforms and the progress achieved in the field of human rights, combating corruption, media freedom, eradicating forced labor, and developing civil society institutions.
The parties reiterated their commitment to stepping up the Uzbek-American cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
