Kokand airport reconstruction project has been completed in Ferghana province. On the morning of March 20, the Kokand airport received the first technical flight by an A320neo aircraft of Uzbekistan Airways from Tashkent.
According to the Uzbekistan Airports, as part of the project, a runway was extended to 2000 m, an apron with two parking lots was erected, and a 100 people throughput passenger terminal on 900 sqm was built.
Regular flights are planned as of April 1.
The airport stopped accepting civil aviation aircraft in 2001 and was used by the Air Force of the Armed Forces.
