Officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office arrested two people in Andijan who promised a businessman contract award in a tender, the press service of the State Security Service said.
According to the department, a resident of the Andijan provinceA. B., 58, and a resident of Andijan (1971) Kh. 53, colluded and “gained the trust” of the head of a road construction company.
Reportedly, they promised, through high-ranking acquaintances, to obtain for him a project for asphalt concrete pavement on 4 km of the 4R-112 road in the Asaka province. For this they demanded 10% of the price provided for the project (4.2 billion soums).
Law enforcement agencies detained A. B. while he was receiving 20 thousand dollars.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspects under Fraud and Complicity in giving a bribe.
